Since 2009, SEWPIT has investigated reports of unexplained activity in homes, apartments, business, historic locations, and other properties throughout Southeast Wisconsin and beyond.
Our goal is simple: find the truth.
What We Investigate
SEWPIT investigates a wide variety of reported paranormal and unexplained phenomena, including:
Apparitions and unexplained figures
Shadow figures and unexplained visual experiences
Unexplained voices and potential EVPs
Footsteps, knocks, bangs, and other unexplained sounds
Objects that appear to move on their own
Unusual temperature changes
Unexplained electromagnetic activity
Feelings of being watched or followed
Unexplained activity occurring repeatedly in a home or business
Paranormal activity reported at historic or significant locations
Other unusual experiences that have no obvious explanation
We also conduct research into UFO/UAP reports, cryptid encounters, paranormal history, folklore, and other unexplained phenomena as part of our ongoing paranormal research and educational work.
We Don’t Assume a Location Is Haunted
One of the most important parts of a SEWPIT investigation is keeping an open mind.
We don’t arrive at a location assuming it is haunted. We investigate the claim.
Before considering a paranormal explanation, our investigators look at possible environmental, structural, technological, psychological, and natural causes that could explain what people are experiencing.
Our investigators use observation, research, documentation, environmental measurements, photography, audio recording, video, and other investigative techniques to gather information.
Our Investigation Process
Tell Us What You’re Experiencing
We begin by listening to your experiences and gathering as much information as possible.
Research the Location
We research the property’s history and look for information that may help us understand reported activity.
Initial Walk-Through
Our investigators examine the location and identify potential environmental or natural explanations.
Paranormal Investigation
If appropriate, we conduct a full investigation using a variety of investigative equipment and techniques.
Evidence Review
After the investigation, our team carefully reviews photographs, audio, video, environmental readings, and other collected information.
Findings
We discuss our findings with the client and explain what we were able-and unable-to document.
Evidence Over Assumptions
We believe that not everything unusual is paranormal.
Cell phones, electrical systems, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, wildlife, reflections, shadows, drafts, building movement, electromagnetic interference, and many other factors can create experiences that initially seem unexplained.
That’s why skepticism is an important part of our investigations.
At the same time, we don’t dismiss someone’s experience simply because we don’t immediately have an explanation.
We investigate. We document. We question. We debunk when possible. And when something remains unexplained, we report it honestly.
